Ventilation & Projects Engineer

Permanent | 8 Days On / 6 Days Off | Southern Goldfields, WA



We are seeking an experienced Ventilation & Projects Engineer to support our underground gold operations in the Southern Goldfields. Reporting to the Senior Planning Engineer, this role is responsible for ventilation management and underground project delivery, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient mining operations.

This is a hands‑on role for a technically strong engineer who enjoys working closely with site teams and contractors while driving continuous improvement across ventilation systems and underground infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review and deliver ventilation plans for underground development, production and projects
  • Manage primary and secondary ventilation systems across underground mines
  • Act as the subject matter expert for ventilation modelling and simulation (Ventsim)
  • Plan and deliver underground projects including fan installations, dewatering upgrades and compressed air improvements
  • Monitor ventilation performance, conduct audits and maintain statutory compliance
  • Identify ventilation and project‑related risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Liaise with planning, operations and technical services to support integrated mine planning
  • Mentor and coach site personnel on ventilation systems and underground projects

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in mining or a related discipline
  • Strong experience managing underground ventilation systems and major ventilation projects
  • Proficiency with ventilation monitoring and modelling tools (Ventsim)
  • Sound knowledge of WA Mines Regulations
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across site teams
  • Current C Class driver’s licence
